Classic Beef Shepherd’s Pie
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs of ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups of frozen mixed vegetables
- 2 cups of beef broth
- 2 tbsp of tomato paste
- 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
- 2 lbs of mashed potatoes
- 1 tbsp of butter
- 1/4 cup of milk
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned.
- Add in the frozen mixed vegetables, beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Pour the beef mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, butter, milk, salt and pepper.
- Spoon the mashed potatoes over the beef mixture, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Shepherd’s Pie

- 4 cups of mashed potatoes
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large skillet, sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat until they are softened.
- Add in the ground beef and brown, making sure to break up the meat with a wooden spoon.
- Stir in the frozen peas and carrots, beef broth, salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Pour the beef mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, salt and pepper.
- Spoon the mashed potatoes over the beef mixture, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
