Pasta is always a crowd-pleaser, and one of my go-to dishes is Pasta Carbonara. It’s creamy, cheesy, and oh-so-delicious. Plus, it’s easy to make, which is always a win in my book. In this post, I’ll be sharing my recipe for Pasta Carbonara, complete with step-by-step instructions.
First, let’s talk about the star of the show: the carbonara sauce. It’s made with eggs, Parmesan cheese, and bacon (or pancetta if you prefer). These ingredients are all mixed together to create a creamy, rich sauce that coats each strand of pasta. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed by the flavor.
To get started, you’ll need the following ingredients:
– 1 pound pasta (spaghetti or linguini work well)
– 4 egg yolks
– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 8 ounces bacon, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– Salt and pepper to taste
1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water before draining.
2. While the pasta is cooking, cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and Parmesan cheese.
4. Once the pasta is done cooking, add it to the skillet with the bacon and garlic. Toss to combine.
5. Remove the skillet from the heat and slowly pour in the egg and cheese mixture, stirring constantly to avoid scrambled eggs.
6. Add in some of the reserved pasta water as needed to thin out the sauce and create a creamy consistency.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Now that your Pasta Carbonara is complete, it’s time to serve. I like to top each serving with additional grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
