Ratatouille Movie Recipe by Babish

- 1 eggplant
- 1 zucchini
- 1 yellow squash
- 1 red bell pepper

- 1 tbsp of fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cut all of the vegetables into slices of equal width.
- Sauté the onion and garlic in 1 tbsp of olive oil until softened, then add in the can of crushed tomatoes and fresh thyme. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the bottom of a large, oven-proof dish. Stack the vegetable slices in alternating patterns (ex: eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, bell pepper) until the entire dish is filled.
- Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the top of the vegetables. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the vegetables are fork-tender and lightly browned on top.

- Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Sauté the onion until translucent, then add in the cabbage, carrot, and pickled ginger. Cook until the vegetables are slightly softened.
- Add in the ground pork and cook until browned and fully cooked through.
- Pour the batter into the pan over the vegetables and pork. Allow the pancake to cook for 5-10 minutes on one side, or until the edges start to brown.
- Flip the pancake to cook on the other side. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the pancake is cooked through and lightly browned on both sides.
- Drizzle soy sauce and mayonnaise over the top of the pancake. Sprinkle katsuobushi over the top.
