Tikka Masala Canning Recipe

Hey there foodies!

Today I am feeling particularly adventurous in the kitchen and want to share with you all my latest creation – Tikka Masala Curry. This dish is one of my absolute favourites and I am so excited to share it with you all.

To start off, you will need to gather the following ingredients:

For the marinade:
– 500g boneless and skinless chicken thighs
– 1/2 cup plain yogurt
– 2 tbsp lemon juice
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tsp grated ginger
– 1 tsp ground cumin
– 1 tsp ground coriander
– 1/2 tsp garam masala
– 1/4 tsp turmeric
– 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

For the sauce:
– 2 tbsp vegetable oil
– 1 large onion, diced
– 4 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tsp grated ginger
– 2 tbsp tomato paste
– 2 tsp garam masala
– 2 tsp paprika
– 1/2 tsp turmeric
– 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
– 1 can (400 ml) of crushed tomatoes
– 1 cup of heavy cream
– Salt and pepper to taste

For serving:
– Cooked basmati rice
– Naan bread
– Chopped cilantro

Now that you have all your ingredients ready, it’s time to get cooking. First, prepare the marinade by mixing all the ingredients together. Add the chicken and make sure it is coated evenly. Cover and let it marinate in the fridge for about an hour.

Next, heat up the vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until softened. Add the tomato paste, garam masala, paprika, turmeric, and cayenne pepper. Stir well and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Add the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 10 minutes until the sauce has thickened. While the sauce is cooking, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Spread the marinated chicken out on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until cooked through. Once done, remove from the oven and chop into bite-sized pieces.

Add the chicken to the sauce and let it simmer for another 10 minutes. Add the heavy cream and stir well. Let it simmer for a final 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened further. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot with basmati rice, naan bread, and fresh cilantro.
