Oh, hello there! Today we’re going to talk about one of my favorite things: tofu. Some people might think it’s bland or boring, but I’m here to tell you that it’s all about how you prepare it. And lucky for you, I’ve got not one, but two delicious recipes to share.
Perfect Pan Fried Tofu
Let’s start with a classic: perfect pan fried tofu. This recipe is super easy and versatile. You can use it as a protein in stir fries, noodles, or grain bowls.
Ingredients:
- 1 block of firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp oil for frying
Instructions:
- Cut the tofu into small cubes and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a shallow dish, mix together the cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the tofu cubes to the cornstarch mixture and gently toss to coat.
- In a non-stick pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the tofu cubes and fry for about 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Flip and fry the other side for another 5 minutes.
- Remove from pan and place on a paper towel to soak up any excess oil.
- Enjoy!
