In a separate bowl, mix together the ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the beef and vegetables in the skillet. Stir everything together to make sure it’s all evenly coated.
Reduce the heat to low and let everything simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will give all the flavors a chance to meld together and become deliciously sloppy.
While the mixture is simmering, it’s time to prep your buns. Toast them up in the oven or on a skillet until they’re nice and warm. Then, spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture onto each bun. Top with some shredded cheese and dig in!
