Who doesn’t love a good Sloppy Joe? This classic American dish has been a favorite in households for decades and there are so many different variations of this delicious and easy-to-make meal. I have my own favorite recipe that I’d like to share with you today!
My Favorite Sloppy Joes Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 hamburger buns
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onions are soft and translucent.
- Add the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, mustard powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the beef and onions.
- Simmer the mixture over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Toast the hamburger buns and spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto them. Serve hot and enjoy!

Sloppy Joes Recipe

- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 hamburger buns
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic and cook until softened.
- Add the ground beef, chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, and cayenne pepper to the skillet and cook until the beef is browned.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the beef and vegetables.
- Simmer the mixture over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Toast the hamburger buns and spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto them. Serve hot and enjoy!
