So today, I’m gonna share with y’all my favorite homemade pesto recipe. Trust me, once you make this, you won’t go back to the store-bought stuff.

Homemade Pesto Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 cups fresh basil leaves, packed
- 1/3 cup pine nuts
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Start by toasting the pine nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until they are light golden brown. Make sure you keep stirring, so they don’t burn. This will take about 5 minutes maximum. Once they are done, take them off the heat and let them cool.
- Now, we’ll get to the greens. In a large bowl of water, soak the basil leaves entirely for 10 minutes. This step will ensure that the basil stays fresh and bright green. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
- Add the basil leaves, garlic, and toasted pine nuts in a food processor. Pulse until everything is chopped finely.
- While the food processor is still running, slowly pour in the olive oil until the mixture is smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl to make sure everything is incorporated evenly.
- Next, we’ll add the Parmesan cheese, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Pulse again until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- And voila, there you have it! Your homemade pesto is ready to go. You can store it in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge.
