Crab Cake Recipe Without Dijon Mustard

Nothing screams coastal cuisine like a delicious crab cake. The combination of fresh crab meat and a crispy exterior is simply mouth-watering. Today, I wanted to share with you two of my favorite crab cake recipes. These recipes are perfect for a fancy dinner party or even just a special date night at home.

Crab Cake with Tarragon Mustard Mayonnaise

If you love the classic crab cake recipe, then you have to try this one with a delicious twist. The tarragon mustard mayonnaise adds a bit of tang to the dish that will leave your taste buds wanting more. Here’s what you need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound jumbo lump crab meat, drained
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh tarragon leaves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, tarragon, lemon juice, mayonnaise, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the crab meat to the bowl and gently stir to mix everything together.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the panko bread crumbs and melted butter.
  4. Use your hands to form the crab mixture into 8 patties, about 1/2 cup each.
  5. Coat the patties in the panko mixture and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Refrigerate the crab cakes for at least 30 minutes to firm them up.
  7. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  8. Bake the crab cakes for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and heated through.
  9. Top the crab cakes with the tarragon mustard mayonnaise and serve.
