Good morning, foodies! Today I want to share with you a delicious recipe that I just tried out and absolutely loved. These Apple Crepes With Caramel Sauce are the perfect breakfast treat to start your day off right. They’re sweet, decadent, and oh so satisfying. Plus, they’re really easy to make!
Apple Crepes With Caramel Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp melted butter, plus more for cooking crepes
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced thinly
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add milk, water, and eggs and whisk until smooth. Stir in melted butter. Let batter rest for at least 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add apples, sugar, and cinnamon and cook, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, combine heavy cream and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar has dissolved and mixture has thickened slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
- Heat a small non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter and swirl to coat. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into skillet and swirl to cover the bottom of the skillet evenly. Cook until edges start to lift up, then flip the crepe and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 1-2 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining batter.
- To serve, place a spoonful of the caramelized apples in the center of each crepe. Fold crepe over apples and drizzle with caramel sauce. Enjoy!
