Who doesn’t love a good bag of potato chips? But let’s face it, the store-bought ones are loaded with preservatives and unhealthy ingredients. That’s why I decided to make my own homemade potato chips, and boy, they turned out amazing! I used two recipes that I found online and combined them into one delicious snack.
Cookin’ with Super Pickle: Best Baked Potato Chips!
Ingredients:
- 2 russet potatoes, scrubbed clean and sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Arrange the potato slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the potato chips are crispy and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
My Homemade Potato Chips
Ingredients:
- 2 russet potatoes, scrubbed clean and sliced thinly
- Canola oil for frying
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Heat canola oil in a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F.
- Working in batches, fry the potato slices for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oil and let drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Sprinkle with salt while the potato chips are still hot.
Both of these recipes are really easy to make and you can customize the seasonings to your liking. I prefer the baked potato chips since they are healthier, but the fried ones are really crispy and delicious as well. Give them a try and let me know which recipe you prefer!
