One of my go-to recipes for dinner parties is a classic Beef Stroganoff. The rich, savory flavors of this dish always impress my guests, and it’s surprisingly simple to make!
Skillet Beef Stroganoff
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
- 1 onion, chopped
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the onion and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Stir in the beef broth, tomato paste, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the sour cream and return the beef to the skillet. Let cook for an additional minute or two until the beef is heated through and the sauce is thickened.
- Serve over egg noodles or rice.
