Beef Stroganoff Recipe Classic

Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 lbs beef tenderloin, cut into thin strips
• 1 onion, sliced thin
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
• 2 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 1/2 cups beef broth
• 1 cup sour cream
• 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Egg noodles, cooked according to package directions

Instructions:

1. Season the beef with salt and pepper.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the beef in batches and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
3. Melt the butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and start to brown, about 5 minutes.
5. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
6. In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream and Dijon mustard.
7. Stir the sour cream mixture into the skillet and add the beef. Simmer for another 10 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
8. Serve over cooked egg noodles.
