Today, I’m excited to share with you my all-time favorite pasta recipe – Carbonara. There’s something so comforting and satisfying about this dish that makes it perfect for any day of the week. And the best part? It’s super easy to make!
To start off, you’ll need some key ingredients. For this recipe, you’ll need 1 pound of spaghetti, 6 slices of bacon (diced), 4 eggs, 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, 2 cloves of garlic (minced), and salt and black pepper to taste.
First, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. While the spaghetti is cooking, sauté the bacon in a large pan until it’s crispy. Add in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Next, whisk together the eggs, Parmesan cheese, and heavy cream in a separate bowl. Once the spaghetti is done, drain it and immediately add it to the pan with the bacon and garlic. Toss everything together to combine.
Now, it’s time to add in the egg mixture. Make sure the pan is off the heat and slowly pour in the egg mixture, stirring everything together as you go. The residual heat from the pasta will cook the eggs, making a creamy sauce that coats every strand of spaghetti.
Finally, add salt and black pepper to taste, and serve immediately with extra Parmesan cheese on top.
