Mascarpone cheesecake is a classic dessert that has become a favorite of people around the world. The rich, creamy texture of the cheese pairs perfectly with the tangy sweetness of fresh berries or a drizzle of caramel. In this recipe, we will combine mascarpone cheese with nutmeg and maple-syrup caramel for the ultimate indulgent dessert.
Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 3 (8-ounce) packages of mascarpone cheese
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
– 4 large eggs
– 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
– 1/2 cup maple syrup
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and melted butter. Press the crumb mixture onto the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch springform pan.
3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the mascarpone cheese, 1 cup granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and nutmeg until smooth.
4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Gradually add the heavy whipping cream, beating until just combined.
6. Pour the cheesecake mixture into the prepared crust.
7. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the center of the cheesecake is set.
8. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature.
9. While the cheesecake is cooling, prepare the maple-syrup caramel. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the maple syrup to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, until the syrup thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 10 minutes.
10. Pour the caramel over the cooled cheesecake.
11. Serve the cheesecake chilled, topped with fresh berries or whipped cream.
