Clam Chowder Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh clams in the shell
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
- 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Clean the clams, discarding any that are open or broken.
- In a large pot, cook the bacon until crispy.
- Add the onion, celery, and potatoes and cook until the vegetables are tender, around 10 minutes.
- Add the chicken broth, bay leaf, and clams and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and let the soup simmer for 20 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and flour until smooth.
- Slowly add the cream mixture to the soup, stirring constantly.
- Let the soup simmer for another 10 minutes until it has thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
