Today, I’m excited to share with you two of my favorite breakfast recipes – crepes and bread! These two dishes are perfect for a lazy Sunday morning and are sure to impress your family and friends.
Crepes
If you’ve never had crepes before, let me introduce you to this French delicacy. Crepes are incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed with sweet or savory fillings. Here’s how to make them:
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and eggs.
- Add in the milk, water, and salt and whisk until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter.
- Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium-high heat.
- Pour batter onto the pan and swirl it around to spread the batter into a thin, even layer.
- Cook the crepe for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
- Serve with your favorite toppings such as fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, or ham and cheese.
Bread
There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning. This recipe is simple, yet delicious and is sure to impress your guests. Here’s how to make it:
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, yeast, and salt.
- Slowly stir in the warm water until the dough comes together.
- Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for 12-18 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
- Carefully remove the Dutch oven from the oven and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it inside the Dutch oven.
- Cover the Dutch oven and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the cover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
