Can you believe it’s National Crêpes Day? To celebrate, I’m sharing my favorite crêpe recipe that never fails to impress my friends and family. These crêpes are light, fluffy, and oh so delicious. And the best part? You can make them sweet or savory!
Sweet Crêpe Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Butter and sugar for serving
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and eggs.
- Add the milk, water, salt, melted butter, and vanilla extract, and continue whisking until the batter is smooth.
- Preheat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly coat with oil or cooking spray.
- Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and swirl it around to coat the bottom of the pan.
- Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the crêpe over and cook for another minute on the other side.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve hot with butter and sugar.
Savory Crêpe Recipe

- 1 cup buckwheat flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
- Ham, mushrooms, spinach, or any other toppings you desire
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the buckwheat flour, all-purpose flour, eggs, water, and salt until smooth.
- Preheat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly coat with oil or cooking spray.
- Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and swirl it around to coat the bottom of the pan.
- Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the crêpe over and cook for another minute on the other side.
- Spread some melted butter on top of the crêpe, followed by the grated cheese and other toppings.
- Fold the crêpe in half and cook for another minute, or until the cheese is melted.
- Serve hot.
