Hey guys, today I want to share with you my favorite recipe for Jamaican Jerk Chicken. It’s a dish full of bold flavors and spices that will make your taste buds dance!
Grilled Jamaican Jerk Chicken
Ingredients
- 6 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- 3 tbsp. lime juice
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. dried thyme
- 1 tbsp. ground allspice
- 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp. ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- In a large bowl, stir together brown sugar, olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic.
- Add chicken and toss to coat with the marinade.
- Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove chicken from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
- Grill chicken for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
Jerk Chicken Drumsticks
Ingredients
- 2 lb. chicken drumsticks
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. dried thyme
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
- 2 tbsp. white vinegar
Instructions
- In a blender, purée green onions, garlic, vegetable oil, brown sugar, thyme, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne pepper until smooth.
- Add soy sauce, lime juice, and vinegar and blend to combine.
- Pour marinade into a large resealable bag and add chicken.
- Seal the bag and toss to coat the chicken with the marinade.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove chicken from the bag and discard remaining marinade.
- Grill chicken for 6 to 8 minutes per side or until cooked through.
