Simple Guacamole Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
Instructions:
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Mash the avocados with a fork until they are mostly smooth but still a little bit chunky.
- Add the lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Stir in the chopped red onion and jalapeño pepper.
- Taste the guacamole and add more salt, lime juice, or black pepper if needed.
My Tips for Making the Perfect Guacamole
Tip 1: Use ripe avocados. The avocados should be slightly soft when you press them with your fingers but not mushy.
Tip 2: Mash the avocados until they are mostly smooth but still a little bit chunky. This gives the guacamole a nice texture.
Tip 3: Add the lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper before adding the other ingredients. This ensures that the flavors are evenly distributed throughout the guacamole.
Tip 4: Use a red onion for a little bit of sweetness and a jalapeño pepper for a little bit of heat. If you don’t like spicy food, you can omit the jalapeño.
