Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless lamb, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, garam masala, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and salt. Add the lamb and toss to coat. Cover and marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
- In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger and sauté for another minute.
- Add the lamb and marinade to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Add the green bell pepper and sauté for another 3 minutes.
- Add the diced tomatoes and their juice to the skillet and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the lamb is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Add the heavy whipping cream to the skillet and stir well. Let simmer for another 5 minutes or until the sauce has thickened again.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with rice or naan.
