Oh my goodness, have you tried making Shrimp Pad Thai before? It is absolutely delicious! And if you’re in the mood for something with a little kick, you’ll love this recipe from Bon Appetit!

Shrimp Pad Thai Recipe

Shrimp Pad Thai

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. Pad Thai rice noodles
  • 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili, seeds removed and finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. tamarind paste
  • 2 Tbsp. fish sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. palm sugar or brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped roasted peanuts
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions:

  1. Soak the noodles in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and fry until golden brown, about 6-8 minutes. Add the garlic and chili and fry for another 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and fry until pink and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the tamarind paste, fish sauce, and palm sugar. Pour the sauce over the shrimp and stir to coat.
  5. Add the noodles to the skillet and toss to combine. Fry for 2-3 minutes, until heated through and well coated in sauce.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped peanuts and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. rice vinegar

Instructions:

  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped peanuts and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
