Pad Thai is a stir-fried noodle dish that originated in Thailand. It is a flavor-packed dish that is easy to make and gets ready within minutes. Here is a recipe for the perfect Pad Thai that will leave you looking like a professional chef.

Super Simple Pad Thai

Pad Thai

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. Thai rice noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 1/4 cup peanuts, chopped
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the Thai rice noodles and cook for 3-5 minutes until tender. Drain the noodles and set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the cooked rice noodles, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Use tongs to toss the noodles and coat them in the sauce.
  4. Move the noodles to one side of the skillet. Crack the egg into the other side of the skillet and scramble it with a fork. Once cooked, use the tongs to incorporate the egg into the noodles.
  5. Add the bean sprouts to the skillet and toss everything together until the bean sprouts are slightly wilted.
  6. Garnish with chopped peanuts and lime wedges. Serve hot.

Easy Tofu Pad Thai (Vegan)

Tofu Pad Thai

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. rice noodles
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup peanuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the rice noodles and cook for 3-5 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the coconut oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  3. Add cubed tofu to the skillet and sauté for about 10 minutes until crispy and browned on all sides. Remove and set aside on a plate.
  4. In the same skillet, add brown sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, and red pepper flakes. Boil the mixture for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Add cooked rice noodles, peanuts, bean sprouts, and green onions to the skillet. Stir everything together until well coated in the sauce.
  6. Add the tofu back to the skillet and stir everything together until heated through.
  7. Serve hot with lime wedges and enjoy!
