Pecan Pie: The Ultimate Holiday Treat

Pecan pie has always been a staple in my family’s holiday celebrations. This sweet and nutty dessert is the perfect way to cap off a delicious holiday meal. I recently stumbled upon two amazing pecan pie recipes that I just had to share with you all. So, without further ado, let’s get baking!

First up is Anna Olson’s Pecan Pie. This recipe takes a traditional pecan pie and adds a bit of maple syrup for that extra touch of sweetness. To start, preheat your oven to 375°F. In a medium saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, 1/2 cup of packed dark brown sugar, 1/2 cup of pure maple syrup, and 1/4 cup of heavy cream. Cook over medium heat, whisking continuously, until the mixture starts to simmer. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until light and frothy. Slowly pour the maple syrup mixture into the bowl, whisking constantly. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of pecans. Pour the mixture into a pre-made pie shell and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

Next up is a recipe from Tasty Kitchen. This Pecan Pie recipe is a bit more traditional, but no less delicious. Preheat your oven to 400°F. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (softened), 1 cup of packed light brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix until the ingredients are well combined. Add in 3 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 1 cup of light corn syrup and 2 cups of pecans. Pour the mixture into a pre-made pie crust and bake for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350°F and bake for an additional 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

Now that the pies are done, it’s time to enjoy! These pecan pies are the perfect combination of sweet and nutty, and they’re guaranteed to be a hit at your next holiday gathering. Serve them warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat. Happy baking!
