First up, let’s take a look at this raved-about pecan pie recipe. It’s got a perfectly flaky crust and a gooey, caramel-like filling that’s loaded with crunchy pecans. Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 3-4 tbsp ice water
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, roughly chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Preheat your oven to 375°F.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add butter and use your fingers to work it in until it resembles coarse sand. Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and transfer it to a 9-inch pie dish. Trim the edges and prick the bottom with a fork. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir in pecans.

Pour the filling into the pie crust and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together corn syrup, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir in toasted pecans.

Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
