Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pastry
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 6 sausages
- 6 eggs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and let cool.
- In the same skillet, crack the eggs and cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, about 5 minutes.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Arrange the sausages on top of the puff pastry, leaving an inch or two of space around the edges. Crack the eggs on top of the sausages.
- Sprinkle the cheese and green onions over the eggs. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Using a knife, score the pastry in a crisscross pattern around the eggs and sausages.
- Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffy.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
