Spicy Sausage Pasta Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of spicy sausage
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces pasta
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large pan, cook sausage over medium-high heat until browned. Remove sausage and set aside.
- Add onion to the same pan and cook until translucent. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
- Stir in chicken broth and heavy cream and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer until sauce starts to thicken, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add cooked pasta, sausage, and Parmesan cheese to the pan. Stir until cheese is melted. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
