Mmmm mmmm! Ya’ll ready for some delectable seafood? We got the hook up right here with these Seafood Sotanghon Rolls. And we ain’t playin’ when we say it’s gonna be a meal to remember!
Seafood Sotanghon Roll
First things first, we gotta give props to the chef over at that blog for this recipe that’s got our taste buds singing. You’ll need the following:
- 1 (8-ounce) package of dried sotanghon noodles,
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil,
- 1 small onion, chopped,
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced,
- 1 small carrot, grated,
- 6 ounces of crab meat,
- 6 ounces of shelled and deveined medium shrimp,
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce,
- 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper,
- 2 egg whites,
- 12 thin slices of ham, and
- 6 parsley sprigs, finely chopped.
Once you got everything together, it’s time to get cookin’. Preheat your oven to 350°F and cook the sotanghon noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set them aside. In a pan, cook the onions, garlic, and carrots in oil until softened, then add the crab meat and shrimp and cook for 2 minutes.
Add in the soy sauce, the black pepper, and the egg whites and cook until the eggs are set. Set the pan aside to cool. Take a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. Lay the ham slices down side by side to form a rectangular shape.
Spread the sotanghon noodles over the ham, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides. Spoon the seafood mixture on top of the noodles and sprinkle it with the parsley.
Using a spatula and the parchment paper to help, roll the ham tightly around the noodles and seafood. Seal the roll by brushing the edges with some egg white. Put the roll, seam side down, on the baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes or until the ham is browned.
Once you pull this sucker out of the oven, it’s gonna be hard to resist taking a bite before it cools. But trust us, it’s worth it to wait a minute or two before slicing and serving it up to your guests. We guarantee you’re gonna be the talk of the town with this one!
