Shepherd's Pie Recipe Dairy Free

3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is soft and translucent.

4. Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and cook for a few more minutes, until the vegetables are tender.

5. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and stir to combine. Cook for a minute or two, until the flour is lightly browned.

6. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste to the skillet. Stir to combine and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes, until it has thickened.

7. While the beef mixture is cooking, boil the chopped potatoes in a separate pot until they are tender. Drain the potatoes and mash them with the butter and milk until they are smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

8. Transfer the beef mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the beef mixture, making sure to cover it completely.

9. Bake the shepherd’s pie for 25-30 minutes, until the potatoes are lightly browned and the filling is hot and bubbly.

10. Serve the shepherd’s pie hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
