Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat, then add the onion, garlic and ginger. Cook until the onion is translucent, stirring occasionally. Add the garam masala, turmeric, paprika, cumin and cayenne pepper, and cook for about a minute, stirring constantly.
Next, add the crushed tomatoes and heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 5-6 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
By now, your chicken should be cooked and ready, so add it to the sauce and stir until the chicken is fully coated in the sauce.
