Spicy Cold Tofu
First up is our spicy cold tofu recipe. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 block of firm tofu
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon of chili oil
- 1 tablespoon of chopped scallions
Begin by pressing the tofu to remove any excess water. Once that’s done, cut it into small cubes and place them in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together the minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili oil, and chopped scallions. Pour this mixture over the tofu and stir until the tofu is well coated. Cover the bowl and allow the tofu to marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
To serve, simply divide the tofu among four bowls and top with additional chopped scallions if desired.
Cold Tofu with Soy Sauce and Ginger
Next up is a cold tofu recipe that’s a little milder, but just as delicious. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 block of silken tofu
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon of chopped scallions
Start by draining the tofu and cutting it into bite-sized pieces. Arrange the tofu on a plate and set it aside. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and grated ginger. Drizzle this mixture over the tofu. Garnish with chopped scallions and serve immediately.
